Partners can help with projects and activities include mentoring, donations, scholarships, workplace tours, classroom presentations, curriculum development, staff development, and coordination of special events. Our 2009-2010 Partners In Education

Do you own, work for or know of a business that would like to partner with ODC to benefit our students?   Do you or your child participate in a club whose members need to earn community service hours?  Then we are looking to partner with you!

The ODC PTA is looking to increase our Partners-in-Education program in order to provide mutually beneficial partnerships between local businesses and our school.

We can provide partnership opportunities on a variety of levels.  Here are some examples of our needs:

Sponsorships/grants: v     Business-level PTA memberships, v     Field trips (past destinations include Kings Dominion, Williamsburg, Spirit of Norfolk, Richmond, Jamestown, Chrysler Museum, Mariners Museum, Norfolk Zoo, and more!), v     Programs (e.g. cultural/arts assemblies, visiting authors, artists-in-residence), v     Running Club, v     Science Olympics

In-kind donations: v     Silent Auction items, v     Refreshments for - Staff Appreciation and Student Recognition events, §         5^th grade graduation reception, §         All-school events (e.g. Fall Festival, Family Dance, etc.), v     Two dozen new hardcover books, v     Potted plants to beautify school grounds, v     Discounts and/or gift cards from office supply, grocery or other stores

Donations of time:  v     Volunteers for Fall Festival games, v     Volunteers for gardening projects, v     Volunteers to teach Quest program
